Gustav Altenhain

Gustav Altenhain ( born December 5, 1891 in Haßlinghausen ); † December 23, 1968 in Gevelsberg ) was a German politician ( FDP).

Education and work

After attending elementary school, the commercial trade school and the arts and crafts school Altenhain took over as owner, the management of a printing plant. According to him, the Gustav- Altenhain - street is named in Sprockhövel.

Party

Altenhain joined in 1918, DDP and was its merger with the Young German Order in 1930 member of the German State Party.

After the Second World War Altenhain took part in the founding of the Liberal Democratic Party in Westphalia, which participated on January 7, 1946 in Opladen in the founding of the FDP in the British zone. At its founding congress, he was elected as one of six deputy chairman Zone Association and confirmed in June 1947 in the Office. He was also chairman of the FDP Westfalen and, after formation of the State Association of North Rhine -Westphalia in May 1947 its chairman. Altenhain was from 1927 to 1929 and 1946 Member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia, was 1946 to 1948 as a deputy member of the Zonal Advisory Council of the British zone and was from 1953 to 1964 Member of the State Assembly of Westphalia -Lippe.

Altenhain was 1946/47, the first two designated North Rhine-Westphalia state legislatures, and was followed from 1947 to 1958 elected member of parliament. He was there from 1946 to 1954 Vice Chairman of the FDP, 1948-1949 Vice Chair of the Personnel Committee and the 1950 to 1955 Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance. 1950 to 1954 he was also Second Vice President of the Landtag.
