Hagen is a village of the Lower Saxon town of Bergen in the northern district of Celle on the Lüneburg Heath. It has 146 inhabitants.

History

Hagen was first mentioned in 1371 under the name Hagene. In contrast to the surrounding heathen villages, the population remained relatively constant over the last two centuries, only after the Second World War, the influx of displaced persons has led to a surge in the number of inhabitants. However, this declined in the following years returned to pre-war levels.

On February 1, 1971 Hagen was incorporated into the city of Bergen.

Policy

Since 1971, Hagen is a town of Bergen. Hagen is Represented by Ortsrat and the mayor. The Ortsrat has, inter alia, decision-making powers for the located in the village public facilities, is responsible for the appearance of the village and care of club life and needs to be heard by the city of Bergen on all important matters affecting the village. It is composed of five elected representatives, a native of Hagen members of the municipal council and the mayor of the city of Bergen Bergen. The Ortsrat elect the mayor, current incumbent is Hermann Reinecke.
