Hajim al-Hassani

Hadschim al - Hasani (Arabic حاجم الحسني, DMG Ḥādschim al - Hasani, born 1954 in Kirkuk ) is a Sunni and an Iraqi politician. He was 2005-2006 President of the Parliament of Iraq.

Training

Al- Hasani was at the University of Mosul, before he emigrated to the USA in 1979. There he studied agriculture and economics at the University of Nebraska and the University of Connecticut. After that, he spent 12 years in Los Angeles, where he was head of a trading and investment company. While he was in the U.S., he was active in the anti -Saddam opposition and member of the Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP ), which is attributed to the Muslim Brotherhood movement.

Policy

After the Iraq war, al - Hasani 2003 returned back to Iraq and worked in used by the coalition forces, Iraqi Governing Council.
