Hal Gill

Harold Priestley " Hal " Gill III. ( Born April 6, 1975 in Concord, Massachusetts) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since October 2013 at the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

The 2.01 m wide defender was selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 as 207th in the eighth round by the Boston Bruins ( drafted ) and played during his studies for the team of Providence College in the Hockey East, a league game in the operation of the College Organization NCAA.

Already in his first season in Boston managed Links Sagittarius 1997 the leap into the trunk of the squad Bruins, for which he continuously in the highest North American professional league stood until 2006 on the ice. The lockout in the 2004/05 season spent Gill at Lukko Rauma in the Finnish SM- liiga. Gill signed on 1 July 2009 a contract with the Canadiens de Montréal.

On 17 February 2012, the Habs him transferred together with a performance-based Fifth round suffrage in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 in exchange for the two strikers Blake Geoffrion and Robert Slaney and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Nashville Predators. His first game for the Predators, he played on 19 February 2012 against the Dallas Stars, in which the defender on 16 minutes was on the ice and the Predators won 3-2.

On October 1, 2013 Gill signed a one -year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Internationally

With the U.S. national Hal Gill won at the World Ice Hockey Championship 2004, Bronze Medal, he also took the team participated in the finals of 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2006. In so far 39 World Cup matches, the defender scored a total of two assists. In addition, Gill stand in the cadre of "Team USA" at the World Cup of Hockey in 2004 and at the 2006 Olympics in Turin.
