Halloween is an American speed metal band from Detroit.

History

Halloween founded in 1981 as a Bitch and gained in her hometown of Detroit in the club scene rapidly popularity. On Halloween 1984, it was decided to rename itself in Halloween and gave himself the leg imitate "Heavy Metal Horror Show". Matching names and epithets to disguise the band for each show. In 1985 the debut album Do not Metal with Evil on the Detroit independent label Motor City Metal Records (MCM ). Shortly thereafter, the band managed live performances around 2,000 fans to congregate. The first edition of the album is today among collectors as a sought-after rarity, since it was not possible MCM to distribute the album in adequate circulation.

Although the band for big names like Manowar, Megadeth, or Riot and even the Cro -Mags opened, stagnated the band's career, partly due to line-up problems and lack of promotion from the record company. Only in 1991 released their second album No One Gets Out, followed by Victims of the Night 1997, which was planned as the successor of their debut album. This was followed by 4.0 Tricks, Treats and Other Tales from the Crypt Horror Fire 2003 and 2006., 2012, her debut album of Pure Steel Records reissued and first released in Europe on LP and CD. Previous versions were either imports or bootlegs. On February 25, 2012 which appeared to date last work of the band, the album Terrortory.

Importance

Halloween apply in the speed metal scene as a cult band. Her cult status in Europe is due in particular to the debut album, which is traded as a rarity. Although the spelling is different, the band was occasionally confused with Helloween, also because both bands perform a pumpkin head in the logo. In Europe, the band among other things on the Keep It True 2004 and the Headbangers Open Air 2008 occurred.
