Hanamaki, Iwate
Hanamaki (Japanese花 巻 市, -shi ) is a city in Iwate Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
Hanamaki is located north of Sendai and south of Morioka.
The Kitakami flows through the city from north to south.
Attractions
The district is home to the Ohasama mask dance Hayachine Kagura (早 池 峰 神 楽) was recorded in 2009 by the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
