Hannover-Marathon
The Hannover Marathon with over 15,000 participants in all disciplines one of the largest road running events in Germany with international participation. He finds every year since 1991 on the first Sunday in May.
The event is organized by the Event Agency Eichels Event GmbH. Sporty host is the Lower Saxony Association of Athletics Federations.
In addition to the marathon, half marathon, a 10 km run and a half marathon for both in-line skaters as well as for hand cyclists are offered. The overall favorite has emerged on Saturday before the race of the children running, here are the reporting capabilities are already days before achieved. The courses are flat and fast.
Route
The Marathon 2012 will be held on a modified circuit. The start and finish of all races, as well as in previous years, is the new Town Hall on Friedrichswall. The course introduces the Maschsee along south to Doehren. Back on the Southside, the Aegidientorplatz and past the main station, the price reaches the Oststadt. There, the marathon route of the half marathon branches off into the List and Vahrenwald to then lead just before the northern city back to the half marathon distance before it goes on the Friedrichswall about the Leibnizufer goal. For Marathon 2012 this route was introduced, was the focus of criticism of the old route that the marathon runners were passed through the garden and George ran away from the target point. Obviously a psychological breaking point.

For 2013, the organizers have announced a new route change. The marathon then leads past the Eilenriede and the newly opened Royal Herrenhausen.
