Hans Müller-Schlösser

Hans Müller- locks ( born June 14, 1884 in Dusseldorf, † March 21, 1956 ) was a Düsseldorf dialect poet and playwright. His most famous stage play is the story of a master tailor Schneider Wibbel, which premiered on July 14, 1913 in Dusseldorf and filmed several times since the 1930s.

Life

Hans Müller Castles was born in 1884 in Dusseldorf, the son of a former sailor. Müller Castles wrote later, the sailors diary his father had stimulated his imagination and " probably made ​​the first move to his future career " him.

Müller Castles attended the Royal Grammar School in Dusseldorf. During his school days worked Müller- locks with its popularized later also as an actor and writer, childhood friends Paul Henckels, Peter Esser and Heinrich Spoerl together on school plays. Henckels later resulted in the first film adaptation of Wibbel Schneider (1931), directed and played the lead role.

After aborted activities as a druggist and in the Registry of the town hall Düsseldorf Müller- locks worked as a local reporter for the " Düsseldorf Latest News " and occasional actor. First publications from 1905.

After the manuscript of his stage play Schneider Wibbel vain offered the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus in the winter of 1910/11 for the first time, it was finally adopted in 1912 and premiered on 14 July 1913. A quarter century later, he designed his comedy to an opera libretto for composer Mark Lothar. In this version, it experienced on May 12, 1938 at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin premiered. Müller Castles published over forty stage plays, collections of poetry and short stories as well as books to the Düsseldorf local history, many in Düsseldorf dialect.

Shortly after the publication of his personal memories of his theater experiences (ink and make-up ) died Müller- locks on 21 March 1956 in his hometown of Dusseldorf. He was buried at the North Cemetery.

Honors

In honor of Muller- Schlosser, who wrote many of his works in Düsseldorf Rhine, Düsseldorf " Hans Müller Castles Academy " was named after him. The Academy is an institution operated by a registered club that teaches Düsseldorf Regiolekt. Furthermore, it is named in the city's Old Town, the Müller Castles alley after him and the Schneider Wibbel Alley after his popular comedy of the same name.
