Hayati Yazıcı

Hayati Yazıcı (* May 23, 1952 in Çayeli, Rize Province) is a Turkish lawyer and politician.

Yazıcı graduated in 1975 the Faculty of Law at the University of Istanbul. He worked in seminars on legal authorities. In 1976 he joined as a judge candidates in the government services in Istanbul. As a judge, he worked in Çayeli, Mihallıççık and Kargı. In 1984 he resigned from the government services and began to work in Istanbul as a freelance lawyer. Yazıcı was a member and leader in various associations and political parties. Hayati Yazıcı is a founding member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP). He worked worked as a lawyer and legal adviser of the party chairman. Yazıcı was a deputy in the 22nd legislative period (October 14, 2002 to July 22, 2007 ) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Hayati Yazıcı is since 29 August 2007 member of the Second Erdoğan Cabinet, where he was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State until 1 May 2009, responsible for foundations ( General Directorate of Foundations ) and public service broadcasting TRT and from 1 May 2009 inch ( State Secretariat for customs ), the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture project and social Security ( General Directorate for Social assistance and Solidarity).

Yazıcı was the lawyer of 4 defendants in the arson attack of Sivas in 1993, in which 37 people mostly intellectual Alevi faith were killed.

Yazıcı is married and father of two children.
