HC Lev Poprad

The HC Lev Poprad was a 2010 established hockey club based in the Slovak town of Poprad. The team played in the 2011/12 season in the Kontinental Hockey League. The home games were played in the 4464 -seat Zimný Štadión Poprad instead. The stadium shared the club with the HK Poprad of the Slovak Extraliga, which also served as a farm team of HC Lev. The Tatranskí Vlci (English Tatra Wolves ) from the Development League MHL formed the junior team of HC Lev and wore their home games in Ves from.

History

After negotiations for the accession in the Continental Hockey League between the Czech Ice Hockey Association and the HC Lev Hradec Králové had failed from the Czech Extraliga, the management of the club, the team decided to Poprad, Slovakia to resettle where it starting from the season 2010 / 11 HC Lev Poprad under the name should participate in the KHL.
