The HC Verva Litvinov is a Czech ice hockey club from Litvinov, who participates in the Czech Extraliga since 1993.

History

The club was founded in 1945 under the name " SK Stalinovy ​​Zavody ", renamed SZ Litvinov and 1961 in CHZ Litvinov 1954. CHZ stood for " Chemické závody " ( Chemical companies Litvinov ). Between 1991 and 2007 the club was called additive Chemopetrol after one of the main sponsors. Today is the HC Litvinov to 71% in the possession of the chemotherapeutic petroleum successor company Unipetrol RPA, a subsidiary of the Czech Unipetrol Group, which in turn is majority owned by the Polish oil company PKN Orlen.

The club plays since 1959 in the top flight of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic and took 1996/97 and 1998/99 participated in the European Hockey League.

The greatest successes of the club were the Czechoslovak and Czech Deputy Cup 1978, 1984, 1991 and 1996, reaching the quarter- finals of the European Hockey League, the Junior Championships in 1966 and 1989 as well as the Czech Women's Championship in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and, 2004.
