Heath Bell ( born September 29, 1977 in Oceanside, California) is an American professional baseball player.

Before the professional career

The right-handed pitcher Bell attended Tustin High School in Tustin, California, where he American football, played basketball and baseball. Bell visited the Santiago Canyon College and was convened in 1997 as the new " All-American ".

Pro career

Bell was selected in the 69th round of the draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1997, but began his professional career in 1998 itself, when he signed a contract with the New York Mets as a free agent. His Major League debut he celebrated on August 24, 2004, when he threw against the San Diego Padres two innings with two strikeouts and no earned run allowed.

Bell throws a strikeout per inning about, but he was in his second pro season, on average 10.8 hits per inning and has a relatively high ERA of 5:59.

On 15 November 2006 Bell moved to the San Diego Padres.

Bell is married, has three children and lives in Port St. Lucie ( Florida). He is the cousin of both singer and actor Drake Bell, as well as basketball players Erik Meek.
