Heaven's Prisoners

Mississippi Delta - In the bottom of Revenge ( Original title: Heaven's Prisoners ) is an American feature film of the genre thriller from 1996 was directed by Phil Joanou, the screenplay by Scott Frank and Harley Peyton based on the novel by James Lee Burke.. The main roles were played by Alec Baldwin, Kelly Lynch and Mary Stuart Masterson.

Action

The former policeman Dave Robicheaux ( Alec Baldwin ) and his wife Annie (Kelly Lynch ) live near New Orleans. The two watch a plane crash, the survived only a little girl. Annie and Dave take it to him and raise him as their own daughter.

The agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration Minos P. Dautrieve visited Dave and places this close to forget the incident. Dave is instead to investigate. Having interviewed the dancer Robin Gaddis (Mary Stuart Masterson ), he gets beaten up by two men, Robin will be broken two fingers. Dave continues to investigate.

It comes to a stop, in which Annie dies. Dave wants to protect Robin and offers her money and a job at his friend in the U.S. state of Florida, but this helps Dave continues to determine the backgrounds. The trail first leads to Bubba Rocque (Eric Roberts ), a former school friend Dave. It later turns out that he was responsible for the plane crash.

Reception

The film received mixed reviews. The plot was criticized as slow and long, the characters as stereotypical. The attempt to address the issues of personal responsibility, was praised; the film was also certifies an atmospheric density.
