Hellwege is a municipality in the Lower Saxony Sottrum in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) with 1,114 inhabitants and is located on the Wümme.

Geography
Neighboring communities
Hellwege borders Ahausen in the east, Sottrum in the north, Otter mountain in the West and long fronds in the south. The latter two are located in the district of Verden.
Community structure
The municipality also includes the villages on the Meente, width fields Moor and location.
History
Hellwege was first mentioned in 1275 in records.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms shows on a red background, which represents the color of the state of Lower Saxony, a silver slant bar that for the bright paths ( dirt roads ) or army way the community is that this gave her name. On the silver bar again there is a blue wave oblique beams, which stands for the river Wümme. Forward up is a silver Spitznagel cross, which stands for the bishopric of Verden represented.
