History

By 1969, the municipalities Bötersen, Clüversborstel, Everinghausen, Hassendorf, Hellwege, Höperhöfen, Reeßum, Schleeßel, Sottrum, Stack, Stuckenborstel, Taaken and Winkelsdorf joined together on a voluntary basis Samtgemeinde Sottrum.

1970 delivers the municipality Horstedt in Samtgemeinde.

As part of the local government reform came on March 1, 1974 must be added the communities Ahausen and Eversen.

Samtgemeinde Mayor

By Samtgemeinde the A1 motorway Hamburg -Bremen runs. By Hassendorf and Sottrum B75, which also connects Hamburg with Bremen runs.

In Sottrum there is a railway station on the route Hamburg -Bremen.

Since 1 April 2010 the Municipality Sottrum has a volunteer -driven citizen bus, which connects the districts together.

Social institutions

Nearest hospitals are the Diakoniekrankenhaus Rotenburg ( Wumme), the Aller -Weser Clinic in Achim and the hospitals in Bremen. After restructuring in physicians' emergency nature of most of the velvet municipality is part of the Emergency Service District Achim, which means that the contact is located in the hospital for emergency cases Achim.
