Helmar Müller

Helmar Müller ( born August 11, 1939 in Sombor, Yugoslavia ) is a former German track and field athlete and football official.

He won - starting for the Federal Republic - at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City with the 4 x 400 - meter relay bronze medal ( 3:00,5 min, European record, together with Gerhard Hennige, children and Manfred Martin Jellinghaus and Helmar Müller as first runner ).

He started at these Olympic games, including in the 400-meter individual race, but bowed out of.

Helmar Müller was a member of the athletics department of VfB Stuttgart. In his playing days, he was 1.80 m tall and weighed 74 kg.

Under the head coach István Sztani was Helmar Müller 1975 assistant coach of Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. He was also a board member from 1975 to 1987 and from 1987 to 1993 director of Stuttgart. From 1977 to 2013 Müller team staff and department heads was the second football team of VfB.
