Henan-Museum
The Henan Museum (abbreviation :河南 博物院, traditional characters :河南 博物院; Pinyin: Henan bówùyuàn, English: Henan Museum ) is one of the most important museums in China. The museum was founded in 1927 in the former provincial capital of Kaifeng in 1961 it was moved to Zhengzhou. A new building will be exhibited in the 3000 collection of over 120,000 pieces, was completed in 1997.
History
In the summer of 1923 an ancient grave in Xinzheng was found during well construction accident, in which more than 100 discoveries of bronze and numerous pottery were discovered by the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Therefore, suggested the chairman of the provincial administration Feng Yuxiang to found a museum. In July 1927, the so-called Henan Museum moved its first seat on the three- holy Monastery Street in the old city Kaifeng, where originally was the office of the former governor. In May 1928, the administration called it the Folk Museum to represent the history and culture of peoples and educate the Chinese people. The first official exhibition opened on 10 October, in nature and art historical exhibits as well as different models were shown.
On 1 December 1930, was officially used as an educational institute and got back the old name " Henan Museum ". On January 20, 1931, the museum was created by the order of Ministry of Education of the province. It was formed a committee of experts who decided to outsource the garments and models in order to create a pure history museum. In the period 1930-1937, the collection is developed qualitatively and quantitatively stormy and the museum got the reputation of being the second best in China in addition to the Palace Museum Beijing.
The Collection
The Henan Museum is one of the eight so-called " impressive museums " outside of Beijing. It houses one of the entire Chinese cultural history documentary collection that focuses on three areas: bronze art, rock art and ceramics with particular attention to the Tang and Song Dynasties.

- Dawn of civilization ( history ): In this department artifacts from the Paleolithic and Neolithic are shown that have been discovered across the province for about 60 years.
- Gloss of the three mythical dynasties ( Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties ): These three dynasties are considered as the basis of Chinese culture and history. At the time, Luoyang was a political, economic and cultural center and served as its capital.
