Heřmaneč

Heřmaneč ( German Herman Czech ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 21 km east of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Heřmaneč is located in a valley on the right side of the creek in the center of Bolíkovský Javořická Highlands and is part of the Natural Park Česká Canada. The village lies at the foot of the 662 m high Vršek, southeast rises the Zadnà Radlický vrch ( 668 m).

Neighboring towns are Maršov in the north, Brandlín in the northeast, Radlice in the east, in the southeast Lipnice, Valtinov in the south, Mosty in the southwest, Suchdol in the west and Olšany and Velky Jenikov in the northwest.

History

First mentioned was the place in the year 1243. Until the mid- 14th century, the village was in the hands of the local noble family of Heřmaneč and then the Lords of Hradec acquired the largest part of Heřmaneč. This proportion gave Henry III. Neuhaus 1392 the Catholic hospital in Slavonice.

Heřmaneč 1638 was part of belonging to the reign Dačice lands in Markvarec. In 1775 the village consisted of 17 villages. In 1840, 217 people lived in the village. The inhabitants belonged to the Czech minority. Denominational about half of the inhabitants were Protestant and Catholics were the second largest group in place. After the abolition of patrimonial Heřmaneč in 1848 as the hamlet of Olšany and gained its independence in 1867. After 1950 the incorporation of Maršov, Olšany and Velky Jenikov. Since 2003, the community supervision by the City Dačice has been assumed.
