Geography
Geographical location
Herrischried is located on the Near Hotze forest, a southern slopes of the Black Forest near the Upper Rhine.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the north by Todt moss and Ibach, to the east by Görwihl, to the south by Rickenbach, in the west on the town weir and on the northwest by the district of the town of Gersbach Schopfheim in the district of Lörrach.
Community structure
The municipality includes the Herrischried to the 1970s independent municipalities Großherrischwand, Hogschür, Hornberg, Niedergebisbach Rütte and Wehrhalden. For the former municipality Großherrischwand the village Großherrischwand and the house hunters house include ( hunter rest). The municipality Herrischried in fron front of the local government reform in the 1970s, includes the villages Herrischried and Lochmatt and the hamlets mill, saw and floor. Among the former municipalities Hogschür and Rütte each include only the villages of the same name. For the former municipality includes the villages of Hornberg Hornberg and Obergebisbach and the hamlet Atdorf. For the former municipality Niedergebisbach include the village Niedergebisbach the homestead Maier courtyards and houses in the Murg Valley. For the former municipality Wehrhalden includes the villages Wehrhalden, Giersbach and Kleinherrischwand, the settlement hole houses and the houses Klaffenbach. In the territory of the former municipality Großherrischwand is leavened in the village Großherrischwand Schellenberg.
In the previously independent, eingemeindeten communities villages are established in terms of the Baden-Württemberg municipal code, each with its own mayor and Ortschaftsrat as its chairman.
History
Incorporations
In the course of municipal reform in Baden- Württemberg, the previously independent municipalities Hogschür, Niedergebisbach Rütte and Wehrhalden were incorporated on 1 January 1973. The incorporation of Großherrischwand and Hornberg on July 1, 1974.

Policy
Herrischried belongs to the Agreed administrative community of the city of Bad Säckingen.

Partnerships
Herrischried maintains since 1978 partnerships with the French town of Le Castellet, in Provence.
Sports
- Ice Rink: This is open from October to April and offers the possibility for ice hockey clubs to meet their sport. In the building of ice sports center there is also an indoor swimming pool.
Winter
In Herrischried to offer the best winter sports facilities of the Hotze forest. Except for two short ski slopes is an indoor ice rink. Numerous cross -country ski trails are groomed in the winter in the area.
Summer
In summer, hiking and biking offer. The biking and hiking trails are well marked.
Sports clubs
Among other things, there is the FC Herrischried with 306 members and the EHC Herrischried with 120 members.

- Eduard Müller (1854-1908), German lawyer and judge
- Sabine Spitz ( b. 1971 ), professional cyclist, Olympic champion in Beijing in 2008 in the mountain bike discipline Cross Country. Silver medal at the Olympic Games, 2012 in London.
