Highest Hopes - The Best of Nightwish is the third compilation album by the symphonic metal band Nightwish by Tales from the Elvenpath (2004) and Best Wishes ( 2005). It was awarded in Nightwish's native Finland with a double platinum record.

Genesis
In 2004 Nightwish published former record company Drakkar Records a best-of album of the group. This was followed by Best Wishes ( 2005), which was created for the Japanese market. Your new record label Spinefarm Records released on 28 September 2005 then their third best-of, which contained the complete band's career from their debut album Angels Fall First up to their last album Once. In addition, two unpublished songs were accompanied by: Sleeping Sun in a re-recorded version and a Pink Floyd cover version High Hopes, which was named after the best-of at the same time. The song was sung by Marco Hietala Nightwish live on the 2005 tour, when Turunen paused.

Singles
The extraction Sleeping Sun was published on 19 October 2005. The song was written by Tuomas Holopainen at the insistence of the record company Drakkar Records and dedicated to the solar eclipse of 11 August 1999. Was published in 1999 as a bonus track on the album Oceanborn in another version and already appeared in 1999 as a single. For compilation, the piece was somewhat revised and re-recorded.
