Highlands and Islands (Scottish Parliament electoral region)
Highlands and Islands is one of the eight Scottish electoral regions of the Scottish Parliament election. It was created on the basis of the Scotland Act 1998 and includes the Council Areas Outer Hebrides, Highland, Orkney and Shetland and parts of regions Argyll and Bute and Moray and is divided into eight constituencies. As part of the revision of the electoral regions in 2011 the external borders and the boundaries of the constituencies were redrawn. The first elections were held on 6 May 1999 as part of the general election.

Geographical breakdown
In the region of eight constituencies are summarized, with respect to the designation and cut the constituencies corresponded to the British Parliament before the revision of constituencies in 2011.
