Hiroki Ueno (ice hockey)

Hiroki Ueno (Jap.上 野 拓 纪, Hiroki Ueno; born April 8, 1986 in Nagano, Honshu ) is a Japanese hockey player who stands since 2011 at the Nikko Ice Bucks of the Asia League Ice Hockey under contract.

Career

Hiroki Ueno began his career as a hockey player in Kushiro, where he joined a youth team. In 2005 he went to Waseda University, for their hockey team he was active until 2009. Subsequently, the striker moved to South Korean club High1 Chuncheon from the Asia League Ice Hockey. After two years on the Korean peninsula, he returned back to Japan in 2011 and has since played for the Nikko Ice Bucks.

Internationally

For Japan, Ueno has already participated at the 2004, 2005 and 2006 U-18 World Championships in 2003 and 2004 and the U -20 World Championships. In the 2005 U20 World Junior Championships he succeeded with the Japanese in the Division II tournament in Bucharest after relegation the year before the return to Division I. He made his debut in the Men's National Team was Ueno at the 2006 World Cup, in which his team in Group A of Division I took. Also at the world championships 2007, 2010, 2012 World Championships and World Cup 2013 he stood for his country in Division I on the ice. In the Asian Winter Games 2011 in Astana he won the silver medal with the Japanese team behind hosts Kazakhstan. He also took part in the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in November 2012 in Nikko part.

  • 2005 promotion to the Division I of the U -20 World Championships by winning the U -20 World Cup, Division II
  • 2011 Silver medal at the Asian Winter Games 2011 in Astana
