Hiroshima Toyo Carp

The Hiroshima Toyo Carp (Japanese広島東洋カープ, hiroshima toyo kaapu ) is a Japanese professional baseball team. They play in the Central League and have been three times the Nihon Series win. Home of the Hiroshima Carp is, their home games they wear in the Mazda stage from.

History

The team was founded in 1949.

In the first twenty years of its existence it was funded by the citizens of the city of Hiroshima. The team is considered the only " urban " professional baseball team in Japan.

On 6 August 2003, an asteroid discovered in 1999 was named after the team: ( 44711 ) Carp.
