The first written mention of deer creek falls only in the year 1225 as a " Reinger Heri de Bach" is mentioned in a deed Nürnberg ( Nuremberg Document Book No. 203 ). This is the oldest mention is that the place name is probably not derived from the names of animals " deer ", but to the person names " Heri " back - that " the stream of Heri ". Until 1505 Hirschbachwinkel belonged to the Bavarian Wittelsbach family, later the Duchy of Pfalz- Neuburg Palatinate -Sulzbach or. The imperial city of Nuremberg was interested frequently in deer creek, probably because of its economic importance ( iron and later also copper mills ).

The local church is dedicated to St. Wolfgang on June 18, 1460 after several years of construction. It is used by the Catholic and the Protestant church for several years. It was originally built as a chapel for the hammer gentlemen and their servants. In 1957, Hirsch Bach was independent parish. Major renovations took place in 1965/66 and 2001/ 02.

The 465 m high district Eschenfelden existed probably in the 8/9 Century. The first written mention of Eschenfelden dates from the year 1129, as a " Heberhardus de Eschenuelden " in a document of the monastery Kastl as a witness occurs ( HONB Oberpfalz 2, No. 60). The moon face is the traditional in the Hirschbacher church coat of arms Meindl family taken, which was for the history of Bach deer of great importance. Since 1584 Meindl owner of the manor and the hammer Hirschbachwinkel were. Georg Meindl left in 1590 to build a paper mill that was in operation until 1874.

The lion's head from the arms of the Wittelsbach reminded that the municipality stood up to the Bavarian War of Succession for the most part under the sovereignty of the Bavarian dukes. After the Bavarian War of Succession the sovereignty between the 1505 neugeschaffenem Principality of Pfalz-Neuburg (country judgeship Sulzbach ) and the imperial city of Nuremberg was divided ( Care Office Velden ).

The silver - blue split in the back of the coat of arms corresponds to the crest of the width Steiner, a noble family, which was established over generations as Hofmarksinhaber in the district of Rheinfelden ash. Eight members of the family are buried in Eschenfelden.

For the community flag alone the color sequence yellow-blue comes into question. The sequence of colors White Blue is the Bavarian state flag reserved. The coat of arms of the flag should be placed.
