Hlinné

Hlinné (Hungarian Agyagospatak - to 1907 Agyagos ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 1792 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Vranov nad Topľou, a part of the Prešov Region and the traditional landscape Zemplín is counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Valley of the Topľa under the mountains Slanské Hills at an altitude of 152 m nm and is 12 kilometers northwest of Vranov nad Topľou. The creek flows into the Hrabovec place in the Topľa.

History

Hlinné was first mentioned in writing in 1333. A mill was built in the 15th century, probably also a church and the place was part of the territory of the castle Čičava. 1828 are 77 houses and 593 inhabitants recorded and was an agricultural village.
