Hoheneck Castle

The Hoheneck Castle is a medieval castle above Ipsheim and also a district of the town in the Middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch -Bad Windsheim. Since 1984, the castle serves as a youth educational center of the county youth for Nuremberg.

Geographical Location

The hill fort is situated on the increase in Franconia, a small-scale, wooded area ( natural park of Franconia ), high above the Aischtal.

History

Hoheneck castle was first mentioned in 1132, in the founding document of the monastery Heilsbronn.
