Geology
Hohenfurch is a place in the Alpine foothills, just south of the terminal moraine of the glacier Lech.
History
In Roman times, the Via Claudia Augusta led on High -forming tap area. Until 1785, the upper village belonged to the Bishopric of Augsburg and the lower village to the monastery of St. Mang in Füssen. Then the whole town came by way of exchange to the Monastery Gaden stone and thus became part of the Electorate of Bavaria. Gaden Monastery stone had Hohenfurch to 1802 as a closed Hofmark. 1818, the municipality was built.

Mayor since the local elections 2008 Guntram birdsong (CSU ). As deputy mayor Josef Epple (FW ) was elected by the municipal council.
The municipal tax revenue in 1999 amounted to the equivalent of 1067 T €, because the business tax revenue accounted for the equivalent of € 208 thousand ( net). The trade tax revenue in 2009 amounted to € 64 thousand.
