Hoofdklasse (Suriname)

Hoofdklasse ( Dutch for main class ) is the highest division in Surinamese football. Since the season 1923/24, the Football Championship of Suriname is played in it, organized by the Surinamese Football Association ( SCC). When Hoofdklasse is an amateur class. A professional league there in Suriname has not (as of 2012/13 ).

The oldest club in the Hoofdklasse is Voorwaarts SV, which was established on 1 August 1919.

Since the 2009/10 season playing ten teams in the Hoofdklasse to the Surinamese football championship. The State and runner-up qualify for the CFU Club Championship.

Hoofdklasse Club - Season 2008/ 09

The order is also the final table of the 2008/09 season with the Master Walking Boyz Company and the runner-up Leo Victor. Direct losers are Super Red Eagles and Takdier Boys. Scorer was Anthony Abrahams of Leo Victor with 22 goals.

Season 2009/10

The season opens October 4, 2009 traditional with the game to the President's Cup, the Surinamese Supercup. The order is also the final table of the season 2009/10. In May 2010, shortly before the end of season 2009/ 10, the FCS National withdrew from the Hoofdklasse. The reason for this was the club management on missing training discipline of the players.

Season 2010/11

The Hoofdklasse season started on 17 November 2010 again with 10 teams. The regulations have been amended as follows: After the return matches the class is divided into two groups. The numbers 1 through 6 of the table play in the championship group in two rounds of the country and vice-champion of. The numbers 7-10 in the relegation group also play in two rounds from the losers, number 4, and the relegation place, number 3. Season 2011/12

On December 7, 2011, started the new Hoofdklasse season. The regulations were changed again. The ten participating teams will play the national champion and relegated in a three- round system. Participating clubs:

The order is also the final table of the 2011/12 season, which ended on July 29, 2012. After seven years without a title of the record champions SV Robin Hood was again national champion. With a gap of eleven points was Inter Moengotapoe second and thus vice-champion. Direct relegated SV is Kamal Dewaker and direct climber in the Hoofdklasse is the team of Surinaams Nationaal Leger (SNL, Militairverein ). Direct relegated is Randjiet Boys and climbers from the Eersteklasse is SCSV Takdier Boys. The SNL was able to prevail against second placed the Eersteklasse, Boma Star in two relegation matches and remains in the Hoofdklasse.
