Horacio Casarín

Horacio Casarín ( born May 25, 1918 in Mexico City; † 10 April 2005) was a Mexican football player and an icon of CF Atlante from Mexico City, for which he successfully worked for many years as a top scorer in use and to which he in later years was to return as coach again. In addition Casarín played for four other teams from Mexico City: Necaxa, CF Asturias, Club América and Real Club España. In addition, he was standing by the CF Monterrey in northern Mexico and the CD Zacatepec in the south of the state capital of the state of Morelos located under contract. Career

Casarín made ​​his debut on 9 February 1936 at the age of 17 in the jersey of Club Necaxa who just lived through the most successful period in the club's history at that time. The term of his Necaxa team, four -time champion in the 1930s, was known because of the great camaraderie as Once hermanos ( eleven brothers ). Only one and a half years later, the 19 -year-old talent on September 12, 1937 made ​​his debut in the Mexican national team in a game against the unpopular neighbors north of the Rio Grande, the Mexicans won with 7:2 and what Casarín could contribute a goal.

In the summer of 1942 Casarín left the club Necaxa and signed with league rivals Atlante, for whom he worked for several successful years, scored 95 goals and with whom he 1946/47, won the championship.

Horacio Casarín died on April 10, 2005, a few months after the death of his wife, from the effects of Alzheimer 's disease.
