Horia (Tulcea)

Horia is a municipality in Romania Tulcea County in the Dobrogea region.

The community consists of three villages: Closca (formerly known as Dautcea ) Floreşti (formerly known as Islam Geaferca ) and Horia (known as Ortachioi in the 19th century, 1924-1947, Regina Maria, named after Marie of Edinburgh).

Located northwest of the capital of Horia, on the road 222A, is the Lacul Horia. The lake is about 2.6 km long from north to south. Its greatest width is about 560 m.
