Hoste (Moselle)

Hoste is a commune with 644 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Freyming -Merlebach.

Geography

The community Hoste in northeastern Lorraine is in the range of ponds that were created by congestion of the source rivers of the motherland creek (le Moder stream ), a tributary of the Albe. The reservoirs Etang de Hoste Skin and Etang de Hoste -Bas are within the municipal area. The latter is developed for tourism and recreation and has numerous boat landings. The approximately 9.5 km ² comprehensive municipal area is of three source streams, which unite to the host Erbach, traversed. Forests account for about 15 % of the municipal area, most of the gently undulating terrain consists of arable and grassland.

Hoste consists of two parts Hoste -Bas and Hoste skin as well as the two kilometers southwest lying district Valette.

Neighboring communities of Hoste are Cappel, Loupershouse, Puttelange- aux- Lacs, Saint -Jean- Rohrbach, Leywiller, Altrippe, Maxstadt and Barst.

Hoste has experienced almost continuous population growth since the 1960s.

Economy and infrastructure
