Howard Jacobson

Howard Jacobson ( born August 25, 1942 in Manchester ) is a British writer and journalist who has worked as a television presenter, inter alia, for Channel 4 and as op-ed columnist for The Independent.

Life

Jacobson, who comes from a Jewish family, certain Jewish traditions and history of the Jews feel connected, but not visit a synagogue. He studied at Cambridge at Downing College, then went for a three-year teaching position at the University of Sydney. After that, he was a professor at Selwyn College, Cambridge working.

Awards

Howard Jacobson was awarded in 2010 with the Booker Prize for his novel The Finkler Question major British literary prize in the longlist in the previous two occasions ( 2002, Who's Sorry Now? , And 2006 Kalooki Nights ) were published novels by him. Jacobson is one of the oldest Booker Prize recipients.
