Hydrograph
The outflow hydrograph, also hydrograph, is the representation or summation of observed or calculated discharges for a Pegelort in the sequence of their occurrence in time ( hydrograph of water at the level).
Usually, a hydrograph to a specific shape. The curve rises rapidly by reaching flood-related peak flow values. After the maximum discharge value ( outflow peak ) has been reached, the curve decreases rapidly again. After a certain time, provides a continuous decrease in the runoff values .
Composition
A hydrograph is basically divisible into three areas, dry weather flow, direct runoff and baseflow.
As a direct drain the water quantities are referred to, with minimal delay reaching the receiving water and produce floods. This direct runoff can be further divided into surface ( overland flow ) and intermediate runoff ( interflow ). This region of the transition line is indicated by a rapid increase in the flow speed and thus by increasing the conveying force.
As baseflow ( baseflow ) the parts of the water are called, that reach the receiving water only after a considerable time lag. It is composed of groundwater outflow and the delayed interflow.
