Ibn Taghribirdi

Jamaluddin Yusuf ibn al -Amir Sayf al -Din Taghribirdi (Arabic: جمال الدين يوسف بن الأمير سيف الدين تغري بردي, DMG Ǧamāl ad -Din Yūsuf b. Amīr al - Sayf al - Dīn Taġrī Birdi ), short Ibn Taghribirdi ( * ca 1409/1410, † 1470 ) was an Egyptian historian, who came from the Turkish Mamlukenelite Cairo. He studied at al - Maqrizi and al - Ayni, two of the leading historians of that time. He wrote a multi-volume chronicle of the then Mamlukenreichs under the name النجوم الزاهرة في ملوك مصر والقاهرة / on - Nuǧūm az- Zahira fī Miṣr Muluk wa-l - Qāhira.
