Igbaras, Iloilo

Igbaras (Filipino: Bayan ng Igbaras, Hiligaynon: Sangguniang Bayan Igbaras ) is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Iloilo on Panay Island in the Philippines. It has 31 347 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 46 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as partly urban.

Igbaras is located in the inland of the island of Panay, the capital of the province, Iloilo City is located, about 33 km east of the community and can be reached from there by bus or jeepney. The neighboring municipalities are Sibalom in the West, Miagao in the southwest, Tubungan in the Northeast and Guimbal in the south. The topography of the municipality is governed by a gently undulating landscape, which merges into the Central Panay Mountains in the north.
