Ilaria is a marsupial genus of late Oligocene within the Vombatiformes.
Features
Ilaria, the " strange beast" ( derived from a word of a Aboriginalsprache, the " alien " means ), was as big as a calf in about. It is known by half a skull, a mandible, pieces of the skull, vertebrae, limb bones and ribs, all of them get rather fragmentary. A striking feature of the dentition is that the upper incisors 1 and 3 and the lower incisor 1 rather resemble canines, while the upper second incisors very small precipitates. Also, the upper third premolar is quite small, as well as all molars. Probably Ilaria fed on leaves.
