Ilariidae

The Ilariidae are a family of representatives of Vombatimorphia from the late Oligocene.

Features

Members of the family have Ilariidae especially common in the dentition on how W-shaped cutting surface systems on the molars and premolars and the third bulbous tooth formula I1- 3/1, C1 / 0, P3 / 3, M1-4/1-4.

Phylogenetic relationships of Ilariidae family to other families of Vombatimorphia are still largely unknown. The Ilariidae family includes only three species in two genera, all from the late Oligocene. These are Ilaria illumidens Tedford, WOOD BURNE, 1987 Ilaria lawsoni Tedford, WOOD BURNE, 1987 and Kuterintja Ngama PLEDGE, 1987a.
