Inamba-jima

Inamba Jima (Japanese蔺 滩 波 岛) is a small, uninhabited rocky volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean. It lies between Mikura -jima and Hachijo -jima Japanese Izu Islands.

Management

As the entire island chain of the Izu Islands belongs Inamba -jima administratively to the prefecture of Tokyo. In turn, the island itself is part of the prefecture Miyake, which is managed by Miyake- jima and at the lowest level to the municipality Mikurajima, which is managed by the island of Mikura -jima from ( 35 km northeast of Inamba -jima ).

Geography

Inamba -jima is located 220 km south of Tokyo and 35 km southwest of the neighboring island of Mikura -jima. The closest island to the south in the island chain is Hachijo -jima, which is located 70 km south-east. The predominantly composed of andesite island has an area of about 5000 m² (0.005 km ²) and reaches a height of 74 meters above the sea.
