Ingrida Å imonytÄ—

Ingrida Šimonyté (* November 15, 1974 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian economist and politician, former finance minister of the country.

Biography

After graduation in 1992 at the 7th Middle School Vilnius Ingrida Šimonyté graduated 1996 Bachelor's degree of business management and in 1998 the Master of Finance at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Vilnius. From 1997 she worked in the department of the fiscal policy of the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance and since 2002 she was Director of the Department of Taxes. After that, she was secretary Ministry and from 1 July 2009 to 6 July 2009 as deputy finance minister worked.

From 7 July 2009 to 2012, she was Lithuanian Finance Minister ( appointed by President Valdas Adamkus ). Your predecessor Algirdas Šemeta became a member of the European Commission as the successor of Dalia Grybauskaite, who was elected on 17 May 2009 on the Lithuanian President.

Since 2013 she has taught as a lecturer at the Economics Faculty of mathematics and computer science Vilniaus universitetas. Since June 2013 she is deputy chairman of the Lithuanian Central Bank ( Lietuvos bankas ), appointed by President Dalia Grybauskaite.
