International Broadcasting Bureau

The International Broadcasting Bureau ( IBB ) is a U.S. government agency in Washington, DC, which is responsible for the technical support, management and operation of the transmission facilities and transmission facilities of all non-military international broadcasting station of the United States. The IBB is subordinate to the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG ). The IBB was founded in 1994 and was at first the United States Information Agency ( USIA ). Broadcaster

  • Radio and TV Martí, programs in Spanish for Cuba by the Office of Cuba Broadcasting.

Furthermore, the IBB is responsible for the transmission facilities of

  • Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty ( RFE / RL ). Radio Free Afghanistan, Radio Free Iraq are special programs of RFE / RL in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Transmission facilities

The transmitters are mainly to short-wave and medium-wave stations in the U.S., as well as to relay stations around the world. The latter transmitting equipment, which is dubbed the program a radio station via satellite or SSB transmitters and broadcast in the target area.

Within the U.S., the IBB care shortwave transmitter in Delano (California ), Greenville (North Carolina) and Marathon ( Florida). Relay stations are located, including Germany, Greece, Morocco, Botswana, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Philippines.

In Germany, the IBB operates shortwave transmitter for Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty in Biblis and Lampert 's home in Hesse. The transmission site in wooden churches in Bavaria was decommissioned in 2003.
