International Color Consortium

The International Color Consortium ( ICC) was founded by eight industrial companies in 1993 in order to achieve standardization of color management systems for all operating systems and software packages. The seat is currently in Reston ( Virginia). Well-known result is a standard for describing color profiles.

Members

The founding members of the ICC were Adobe Systems, Agfa, Apple, Eastman Kodak, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Silicon Graphics and Taligent.

Since the establishment of some members, including Sun and Microsoft, leave the ICC. Other members have been added. These include Canon, Fuji Photo, Fuji Xerox, Fujitsu, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Hewlett Packard, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, NEC Corporation, Nikon, Nokia, Okidata, Samsung, Seiko Epson, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, and Xerox.

Honorary members are the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL ), Fogra Technology Research Association, Dalarna University, London College of Communication, Rochester Institute of Technology and Western Michigan University.
