International Radio of Serbia

The International Radio Serbia (Serbian Međunarodni radio Srbija ) is the foreign radio stations of the Republic of Serbia and belongs to the national broadcasting company Radio Televizija Srbije.

History

The predecessor organization of the station was Radio Belgrade. This took his broadcasts still the time of the Yugoslav monarchy, in March 1936. Its creation was a response to the increase in propaganda broadcasts from fascist -ruled countries in Europe. During the occupation of Serbia by German troops in 1941 Radio Free Yugoslavia sent further in the tradition of Radio Belgrade. The exile location of the transmitter was located in the Russian city of Ufa in the Urals. After the war, the broadcasts were resumed for abroad from Belgrade and Radio Belgrade was renamed Radio Yugoslavia. Under this name, it also sent after the fall of real socialism regime and the attendant collapse of Yugoslavia on. The name change in voice of Serbia ( Serbian: Glass Srbije ) occurred only during the dissolution of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, since 2012, the program is broadcast under its present name.
