Into Glory Ride is the second studio album by the American metal band Manowar True.

Formation

Although the debut album Battle Hymns in Europe was fairly well received, the success was in their home country USA. As a consequence Manowar lost their recording contract with Liberty Records ( EMI). With a new drummer Scott Columbus has been found which was until 1990 and from 1996 to 2008 a permanent member of the band. With a demo tape, the band competed at several record companies, including at the independent label Music for Nations. The record contract for the second album, the band members signed with their own blood. The company released the demo tape then also under the title Into Glory Ride practically blank, which explains the weak sound.

Music style

Unlike its predecessor, the songs are now held much more epic, secular themes are missing in the texts now completely. The songs mainly serve fantasy clichés and act of warriors and battles. The cover artwork is adapted to these textual orientation and shows a photo of the band dressed as fantasy warrior with cutting and stabbing weapons.

Publication

For years, this was the " lost " album of the band. 1983 appeared in a number of countries vinyl editions, but was not followed by CD edition. When the bootleg scene began to grow, two different conditions were relatively unknown. Firstly, a version that additionally the following Album Hail to England contained ( with Wendecover ) and on the other a version that some live recordings contained ( the live intro, Manowar, Fighting the World, Kings of Metal and Sign of the Hammer ). On this second version is also the original version of Defender, for the Orson Welles has a part with eingesprochen.

For song Gloves of Metal, there is a music video that III later appeared on the DVD Hell on Earth along with a few special effects -enhanced version.

In 1993, a box appeared with the title Secrets of Steel, which is also the album Into Glory Ride and Hail to England contained for the first time on CD in addition to a 15-minute VHS video. 2001 Into Glory Ride was licensed from Ragnar Productions remastered re-released Silver Edition through Metal Blade Records.
