Into the Groove
Into the Groove is a song by Madonna from 1984, which was written by her and Stephen Bray. It is the soundtrack to the film Desperately Seeking Susan ... and is considered one of the most important " disco anthems " of the 1980s.
History
To write the songs Madonna was supposedly from a product coming from Puerto Rico man she saw from a balcony, inspired. Originally they wanted to leave the song her then boyfriend, the DJ Mark Kamins. The end of 1984, however, she took the hit in the Sigma Studios on their new edition of the album Like a Virgin. In the United States Into the Groove was released on the B-side of Angel, so that not both titles should make the charts competing with each other. On 23 July 1985, the single Into The Groove was released with the Angel B - side in the UK.
From the genre of the song corresponds to the dance and synth pop, the initial quote was the inspiration of the title of Madonna's remix album You Can Dance.
In the spring of 1985, Madonna had with the single Material Girl, Crazy for You and with two big sales success. In April we released the song Into The Groove in the U.S. on the B-side of Angel, the title reached number 5 on the singles charts and stayed 17 weeks on the Hot 100 in the airplay charts the single reached up to 4th place the single was awarded in the United States with a gold record.
Into the Groove in the U.S. reached the U.S. dance charts ( # 1 ) and U.S. Hot Black Singles chart ( 19th place ). In addition to the UK, the hit also managed to top the charts of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Spain.
Music
The piece is based on a mechanically throbbing, extremely danceable drum machine beat and an equally mechanical synth bass track.
