Ipomoea carnea is a species of the genus of morning glories (Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread in America and the West Indies.
Description
Ipomoea carnea is a growing shrubby or vine plant that can reach a height of 1 to 2 m, or with climbing assistance and 5 m. The leaf blades of their leaves are broadly ovate - cordate acuminate and usually 10 to 15 cm long and of similar breadth. The lower leaf surface is hairy soft tomentose.
The flower to a length of up to 10 cm. They are in multifloral cymes shorter than the leaves, up to 5 cm long pedicles. Flower stalks and buds are hairy puberulous. Sepals have nearly the same shape and almost circular and 5-6 mm long. The crown is pink or rose- colored, funnel-shaped and fitted in the center with a feinfilzigen band. Stamens have a length of 2 to 4 cm, the dust bag is 8 mm long. The seeds are long hairy tomentose.
Dissemination
The species is distributed from Peru through Central America to Venezuela, and the West Indies.
