Irina Kirichenko

Irina Ivanovna Kirichenko (Russian Ирина Ивановна Кириченко, married. Васильева, Vasilyeva; * 1937 in Kharkiv ) is a former Soviet track cyclist and two-time world champion.

Irina Kiritchenko belonged to the guard of the Soviet women cyclists who dominated the track cycling in the 1960s. Twice - in 1964 and 1966 - she became world champion in the sprint. Four times she won at the World Championships in second place in this discipline and even the third. In 1969, she was the last time an international success. Nine times she became Soviet champion in the sprint and in the 500 -meter time trial.
