IRobot is listed in the NASDAQ technology stock index U.S. company that manufactures robots. Best-known service robots from iRobot Roomba robot vacuum cleaners are the and the Scooba Floor Washing Robot. The company also manufactures robots for military purposes.

History

IRobot founder Rodney Brooks, Colin Angle and Helen Greiner were inspired by her previous work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to build robots and develop. Rodney Brooks is also director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (as of summer 2008). iRobot was founded in 1990 and went public in 2003. On 9 December 2005, the company took by selling five million shares a 120 million U.S. dollars.

In September 2012, iRobot, the company bought Evolution robotics, whose floor cleaning robot " Mint" now changed under the name " Braava " is sold.

By 2013, iRobot has sold more than 10 million home robots worldwide.
