Irungbam Surkumar Singh

Irungbam Surkumar Singh ( born March 21, 1983 in Imphal ) is an Indian football player, he plays for Mohun Bagan and since 2001 in the Indian national team.

Career

Singh comes from the Tata Football Academy and began his career in the Indian National Football League 2000 at the East Bengal Club. After winning the championship in 2001, he spent two years in Mahindra United, with whom he won the 2003 National Cup, before he returned to East Bengal Club for the season 2003/ 04 and won his second title. Between 2004 and 2007 he was again working for Mahindra United and won with the team in the 2005/06 season by winning the championship and the national cup domestic double. After a further two years at East Bengal Club (2007 to 2009) he played for the 2009/10 season for Mohun Bagan.

Singh was already in qualifying for the 2002 World Cup more than once for the Indian national employed. 2008, the defender won with the national team by a 4-1 win over Tajikistan to the AFC Challenge Cup. India managed by first time since 1984 to qualify for the Asia Cup.
