Isidro Lángara

Isidro Lángara Galarraga ( born May 25, 1912 in Pasaia, Gipuzkoa, † 21 August 1992 in Andoain, Gipuzkoa ) was a Spanish football player. The extremely prolific striker brought it in 12 appearances for the Spanish national team in 17 matches. He was also three times top scorer in the Spanish league top scorer of the Mexican League and once scorer in the Argentine league.

Biography

Spain ( first stage )

Isidro Lángara signed in 1930 at the age of 18 years, a contract with Real Oviedo, whose football team kicked at that time in the second division. 1933 managed the club for the first time in its history, the rise of the House of Lords and football Lángara was instrumental in this success proportion. Also in the first division he had from the beginning no problems, enforce and became - with 27 goals in the season 1933/34, 26 goals in the 1934/35 season and again 27 goals in the 1935/36 season - three times in a row scorer in the Spanish League. Overall Lángara came during his six -year-long first stage in Oviedo in 220 competitive games for use, scoring 281 hits.

Real Oviedo had thanks to its young and talented forward line up - developed into a top team and consecutively occupied the third place twice in the last two seasons 1934/35 and 1935/36 - with Lángara at the top. But then began the Spanish Civil War, as a result, the Spanish Cup was suspended until 1939 and the hopeful team fell apart. The native Basque Lángara joined the Basque national team, the 1938/39, was allowed to play under the name of Euskadi in the Mexican League and was runner-up behind Asturias.

Through this step, however, he had cut the ribbon for the Spanish national team, for which he should accrue in the future ever again. Between 1932 and 1936 he had come a total of 12 times for the national team to use and had scored 17 goals in the process. Mexico

As in Mexico, professional football was introduced (and the local players' salaries were higher than in Argentina), changed Lángara 1943 Real Club España, where he saw perhaps the most successful period of his active football career. For here he won his only title as a player: 1944 Copa México and 1945 the Mexican championship. He also scored in the three seasons with España 105 top-flight, making it both 1943/44 ( with 27 goals ) and 1945/46 ( with 40 hits ) was top scorer of Mexico. Spain ( second stage )

In 1946, Lángara back to Spain and played again for his former club Real Oviedo. While he was still on 18 hits brought it in his first season, 1946/47 ( in 20 games ), it passed in its second and last season's total of 1947/48 only to nine appearances and scored five goals.

Coaching career

After the end of his active career Lángara again went to Mexico to live there. During this time, however, took him twice to South America: 1950/51 he trained the Chilean club Unión Española and won him the championship. In 1955 he returned to his former Argentine club San Lorenzo de Almagro. In between, he coached the Mexican Puebla FC and won with his 1952/53, the cup competition. Later he returned to his home, where he died at the age of 80 years.
