Isla de Cañas

Isla de Cañas is a comune ( municipality ) in the department Iruya in the Sierra de Santa Victoria in northwestern Argentina. It includes the towns of Isla de Cañas, Limoncito, Río Cortaderas, Tres Morros and San Ignacio. The municipality is located in the eponymous village of Isla de Cañas.

The municipality has an area of 1200 km ². The river flows through Iruya the area to the east. The climate is subtropical.

In the municipality of 1700 inhabitants living. The population lives mainly on the rearing of small livestock.
